I’m having a great deal of trouble find out more about this man my grandfather, John Ragland. I've tried Ancestry.com but I'm afraid that due to genocidal history of Native Americans and the harsh oppression of Slavery I may not be able to find out much information on my own.  I’m not rich and cannot afford to hire a genealogist but I do hope not to go to my grave and not fully know my family history.
